Project planned for Murphy Road Progresses

A major mixed-use project eyed for the West End corridor continues to progress, with the developer to seek Metro Planning Department staff approval regarding the final site plan.

Brentwood-based GBT Realty has enlisted the local office of Raleigh-based Kimley-Horn for civil engineering duties and Nashville-based Gresham Smith to design the 14-story building, to feature residential, retail, restaurant and hotel spaces.
 

A Metro document notes the building as called Parke West. It will offer 210 residential units, 7,000 square feet of retail and 12,000 square feet of restaurant space.

Last year, GBT paid $7.4 million for the property, which is located at 3415 Murphy Road. Fifth Third Bank was the seller.

The Metro Council approved the rezoning for the project last year.

Of note, the structure GBT plans is expected to play like two distinct buildings bifurcated by a green courtyard and street-level space for restaurants and retail. One piece proposed will offer residences and the other component will feature a hotel.

The building will sit within Metro Councilmember Brandon Taylor’s District 21.
